Windows server 2008 seems like heading the right direction at last… 
Cool  features include

Virtulazition – Hyper V based

Server core- making it easier to carry out specific server role like DHCP, DNS,etc..,

IIS- big jump on this feature.. you can delegate administration to site admins and can restrict their privelages..( yes, finally lol),

Role- Based installation

RODC ( Read only domain controllers)- Now you can have local office running servers and cannot propogate back to your ad  and also reduces wan traffic.

Enhanced Terminal Services

 Network access protection- this is really cool.. you can have security policies in it, so you can isolate machines which do not meet the requirement.

Windows Powershell – of course linux

Bit locker- haha sys drive encryption

Better security- we will see about this one…

Overall very cool features, Ya’ll Techies better get the cert on…
